Casablanca, Morocco. Our first stop on a 12-day scouting trip to visit both notable and newly established hotels, restaurants, shops and cultural sites in Morocco. This trip was arranged by one of my premiere travel partners and I’m honored to be joined by a small group of fellow luxury travel planners from across the US. Day 1 was all about Casablanca, beginning with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest functioning mosque in Africa, and a structure so exquisite that it’s impossible to capture in photos. A must see in Casablanca! After touring the mosque, lunch at @rickscafe_casablanca is a fun option. Although the movie wasn’t filmed in Morocco, Bogart and Bacall put Casablanca and Rick’s on the map. An afternoon site visit to the art deco gem @lecasablancahotel was a visual feast. This is a great hotel option for travelers who enjoy design driven properties. We were hosted overnight at the stunning seaside property @fscasablanca where guests can fall asleep to the sound of the pounding Atlantic surf. The most exciting hotel news of the day is the March 2024 opening of the new Royal Mansour property in Casablanca. Their property in Marrakech is one of my favorites and I’m expecting the same level of elegance and style in the newest property. We ended our day in Casablanca with a traditional Moroccan meal @dardadacasablanca followed by an entertaining belly dancing performance. Such a graceful dance form! When you are ready for Casablanca, this city is ready for you with upscale hotels, a lively food scene, an absolutely gorgeous mosque and much more!
