What we will do: Vineyard visits, including the opportunity to participate in grape crushing the old fashioned way – by foot! Wine tasting, A visit and tour of the chapel, gardens and house of Casa Mateus, A visit to the museum and pre-historic cave drawings of Foz Coa, A private afternoon Boat Cruise on the Douro River

US- Lisbon

International arrival to Lisbon, transfer to hotel

City Tour: an overview of Lisbon’s neighborhoods, prominent buildings and layers of history: Roman ruins, Belém Tower the Jeronimos Monastery

Depart for a day of touring in Sintra, where we will visit the spectacular Pena Palace, and in Cascais, where we will walk through the town and have lunch by the sea at Michelin noted Nortada

Depart Lisbon for the UNESCO protected vineyards of the Douro River Valley (4 hours)

Stop along the way in Coimbra a medieval University town, to see its famous Baroque library, the Biblioteca Joanina, widely considered one of the most beautiful libraries in the world

Lunch at Loggia, on the terrace of the Museu Nacionale Machado de Castro

Wine Tasting  – An introduction to the wines of Murcas Vineyards
